About

I do this work every day. Molloy Finance is how you hire it.

My story

I’ve always felt compelled to make my community a better place to live — for me and for my neighbors. For the last 13 years that has meant a homeless shelter and residential drug-and-alcohol recovery nonprofit in Santa Barbara, where I started as an admin associate when the budget was $1.8M and ended up COO of a $5M organization serving over 230 people a day.

Ten-plus years of that was senior leadership, and the work taught me one thing over and over: the day-to-day decisions and the big strategic ones aren’t separate jobs. The daily workflows have to serve the board, the funders, the auditors, the staff, and the clients all at once — and when they do, everything gets easier. That’s the integration I build.

In 2026 I moved my family to the San Diego area and redesigned my own role to run remotely — same authority, same close, same clean audits, three hours from the office. That transition is what proved this model: an organization doesn’t need a finance leader in the building. It needs one who builds systems that work, documents them, and answers the phone.

Now I want that impact to reach further than one organization. If you’re facing a hard situation — a funder audit, a messy close, a budget that doesn’t add up — I’ve probably already faced it.

Why care organizations, and nothing else

I feel called to spend my working life helping people who are suffering — whether through mental health care, poverty work, education, or advocacy. Running finance and operations so that programs and client care get every possible dollar and hour: that’s my way of fighting the good fight alongside you.

How I work

  • I solve for pattern. The phrase is Wendell Berry’s. Good solutions solve more than one problem; good answers resolve more than one question. Some people call it win-win — I think of it as a whole-picture way of making decisions that work for everyone. A clean monthly close is also audit readiness, is also board trust, is also a cash forecast you can believe.
  • Responsive. Usually same business day, always within 24 business hours.
  • Everything documented. Every workflow I run is written down in your systems, under your ownership — so nothing about your finances lives only in my head.

Outside the spreadsheets

Married 15 years, two kids. I coach youth softball, volunteer at my local homeless shelter, and default to DIY — home projects, smart-home automations. When we get the chance, the family goes camping; when I get the chance, I’m trail running or hiking.
